THE BEST BASEBALL NET FOR BEGINNING PITCHERS.

Now that Griff has joined a more competitive baseball league, and entered the crazy world of kid-pitch, his interest in becoming a pitcher has heightened.

The Crazy World of Kid-Pitch.

Let me start by saying that the first season of kid-pitch is crazy different than anything you have ever seen before with regards to your kids and baseball. Baseball games used to be filled with exciting plays and consistent hits that tested the fielding skills of the entire team.

The move to kid-pitch is a huge change up for both the kids playing, and the adults watching. The game is much slower. And unfortunately there is a lot less action.

Griff has now had baseball games where they only get through the batting line-up one full time. Kid pitchers that are brand new to pitching tend to throw a lot of balls. And some of them even hit the batters.

Once the young players get hit by an errant pitch they can get afraid of the ball, and step out instead of stepping up to hit. This leads to strike-outs or lucky walks.

In fact, most of the runs come from walks, not hits. And it isn’t very exciting to watch kids walk around the bases, let me tell you!

I’m sure as the seasons of kid-pitch continue this will all be left behind in the rearview. But wow, is it a trip for the first season!

Back to Pitching.

Griff has now seen that pitchers have a huge role on the team. They have the ability to win or lose a game, and as a kid that loves to be in control, that is right up his alley.

He has been asking to practice pitching in the backyard almost every day, and we have been happy to oblige.

First, because we love seeing him love something so much. Second, because we love that he has initiative. And third, because it’s much cheaper going out in the yard than paying for pitching lessons like most of the kids on his team are doing.

Although we don’t have catching gear, Adam is brave enough to sit on a bucket and give Griff a mitt to throw into. When Adam isn’t available and it’s my turn, I’m not as comfortable taking the wild heat that Griff can throw.

Welcome to the story, Griff’s surprise birthday present, the GoSports 7ft x 7ft Baseball Net on Amazon. He couldn’t have been more excited to open this up on his birthday, and we’ve been using it in the backyard ever since. And I’m super excited to not be the catching glove anymore!

1. The product is sturdy and great quality.

Griff has thrown so many balls into the net and it is still performing as if it’s the first one.

2. The GoSports net is also super easy to set up and take down.

On our first try it still took only a couple minutes until Griff was throwing into the net, and taking it down is just as simple. He can even do it himself with no parental supervision.

We actually make sure to put it away after every use, so it isn’t left out in the elements. I’m sure it could weather a couple storms, but Griff is particular about keeping his toys and special things clean and safe.

3. It comes with a Carry Bag.

This is why the carry bag that it comes with to carry all the pieces is amazing. We just put everything away in the carry bag, and keep it in the back of our car with the rest of the baseball gear.

4. Griff also loves the strike zone add-on.

It helps him understand how many of his pitches are actually on target.

His coach has a rule that he needs to throw seven pitches out of ten balls in order to pitch during a game. Now he has an easy way to record his progress on that goal.

5. Less time collecting balls thanks to the pocket.

The pocket in the net keeps all of the baseballs together and easy to collect back into our baseball bucket. This means more time pitching and less time looking for wild pitches that landed in the accidental watermelon patch!

In summary, the GoSports 7ft x 7ft Baseball Net is a great buy on Amazon. Your kid will appreciate you supporting their dreams, and you will appreciate not taking the hits from all the wild pitches that arise from a beginner.
