Looking for a place to go when your boys get restless and start taking it out on each other? The driving range is it!
We have a driving range just down the road that only costs $15 for a large bucket. That is about an hour of fun for the boys at very little cost.
Is Top Golf more fun? Maybe. But it is also so much more expensive that it can’t be a regular occurrence for the Hopkins Family. The driving range, however, has weekly potential!
First benefit, no dress code required. Griff and Owen usually wear their crocs and whatever clothes they have on at the time.
To ensure we don’t anger the other patrons, we find a spot at the far end by ourselves. That way if one of the boys has a stray hit we don’t have to feel bad about it. They can quickly run and grab a bad ball a foot away without an injury or dirty look.
Want your kids to learn a sport that might get them a scholarship one day? Golf is that sport! There are thousands of golf scholarships available. Plus it is both a social and lifetime sport, so it may be helpful for their future careers and networking.
Don’t know how to play golf? That is okay! These days there are YouTube videos that can teach you just about anything. Just pull up a video and learn the basics. Or most driving ranges have golf pros that are willing to teach lessons for cheap.
Let your children get their anger out by whacking away. Staying focused to hit the balls and getting outside will also help wear them out to make your life easier.
First step, driving range. Have fun and help build their love of the game. End goal, get them on the golf course. But that is not recommended until your littles are older and can handle an activity for longer than an hour without complaints.
